Appalachian Trail – Extending from Maine to Georgia, this 2,175-mile hiking trail passes through Hot Springs, just down the road from The Preserve at French Broad Crossing.
Biltmore Estate – This 8,000-acre estate features America’s largest privately-owned home – a 250-room French chateau castle – as well as an award-winning winery, phenomenal restaurants, numerous shops and beautiful gardens.
Blue Ridge Parkway – America’s Favorite Drive is a 469-parkway that runs from Shenandoah National Park in Virginia to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park near Cherokee, NC. Along the way you’ll discover historic sites, hiking trails and overlooks with sweeping views.
Chimney Rock Park – This 1,000-acre park offers the best of the mountains in one place – spectacular 75-mile views, hiking trails for all ages, a 404-foot waterfall, a variety of special events and much more.
Downtown Asheville – Often called The Paris of the South, the heart of Asheville features dozens of art galleries, fascinating museums, boutique shopping, live performance spaces, and an enormous variety of restaurants serving continental and international fare.
Fishing – The French Broad River provides some of the region’s best fishing for trout and small mouth bass. Cast your line at the community’s riverfront park, or pair up with one of the local outfitters for flyfishing expeditions and classes.
French Broad Rafting Expeditions – This outfitter, located down the road from the community, offers whitewater rafting expeditions for families and groups of all ages and experience levels.
Grandfather Mountain – The highest peak in the Blue Ridge, this park features the famous Mile-High Swinging Bridge; 12 miles of hiking trails; a nature museum; and habitats with black bears, river otters, cougars, eagles and deer.
Hendersonville, North Carolina – Located just 20 minutes south of Asheville, this charming town features a Main Street lined with cafes and shops, as well as attractions, museums and more.
Hot Springs, North Carolina – Located just a few minutes from the front gate of The Preserve at French Broad Crossing, Hot Springs is named for the natural mineral springs that draw visitors for a dip in their relaxing waters.
